At an age when many women are sending children off to college or even becoming grandmothers, Helena Ess decided to go to culinary school. A self-described “foodie” who spent every spare minute in the kitchen, she knew it was time to leave Corporate America to pursue her real dream – building her own business to cook for other people. Knowing first-hand the challenges of putting a healthy, nutritious meal on the table at the end of a long, hectic day became the inspiration for T.H.E. Dinner Solution, Personal Chef Service.

Helena is a gold-medal graduate of the Academy of Culinary Arts of Atlantic-Cape Community College, Mays Landing, New Jersey and was valedictorian of her class. She holds an Associates Degree in Culinary Arts and a Bachelors Degree in Liberal Studies. Prior to moving to Greenville, SC she worked in fine-dining restaurants in Bucks County, PA, and most recently for one of Philadelphia’s premier off-premise caterers. In this capacity she has cooked for people such as Ed Snider, owner of the Philadelphia Flyers, Senator Arlen Spector and comedian Bill Cosby. Helena is a Premier Member of the United States Personal Chef Association and is committed to its high standards of professionalism.
