The Unwritten Chef has no boundaries as far as creating menus are concerned. She loves to be creative in the kitchen and will make whatever you like! Chef Heather has hundreds of recipes from which you or she will choose, depending on your preference, that will be sure to please the eye as well as the palate :) Chef Heather creates customized menus, does complete grocery shopping, meal preparation in your home, and uses a variety of healthy menus, the freshest fish, freshest vegetables, top quality meats, and the freshest herbs & seasonings.
Heather received her Bachelors Degree in Environmental Studies and Spanish from Lake Forest College, IL. She realized her love of food during college when she found herself spending what little free time she had in front of the television watching the Food Network, making culinary creations in the school cafeteria when she and her friends became bored of the monotony of the food, and eating at the many wonderful restaurants in Chicago. She studied abroad in Costa Rica for a semester where her love and interest in food continued to grow. After receiving her B.A., she came back home to Cincinnati where she enrolled in the Pastry and Culinary Arts Programs at Cincinnati State and finished with a certificate in the Culinary Arts and an Associates Degree in the Pastry Arts. While in Culinary School, she worked at Busken Bakery and the BonBonerie. Heather currently works at The Clifton House Bed & Breakfast (www.thecliftonhouse.com) as the Breakfast Chef and is working towards becoming a Registered Dietitian. She is also a recent member of the United States Personal Chef Association. As your Personal Chef, she will prepare you tasty, creative, and healthy dishes!
Do I need to have pots and pans and stuff? Nope! I bring all of that stuff - pots, pans, spatulas, food processor, graters, knives, pot holders, cloths for cleaning and cleaning supplies! All I need from you is a stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, freezer and sink. What if I only want you to come to my house once a month? Sure thing! I will come as often as you like. I will meet with you to discuss your needs, I will give you a first time service for 50% off, and then we will decide on which service would be best for you (weekly, bi-weekly, monthly, or bi-monthly). From where does the name "Unwritten Chef" come? Chef Heather calls herself the Unwritten Chef because she loves the lyrics to the song, “Unwritten,” by Natasha Bedingfield. Part of the lyrics follow: "Reaching for something in the in the in the distance / So close you can almost taste it / Release your inhibitions / Feel the rain on your skin / No one else can feel it for you / Only you can let it in / No one else, no one else / Can speak the words on your lips / Drench yourself in words unspoken / Live your life with arms wide open / Today is where your book begins / The rest is still unwritten” Will my kitchen be clean?
