About the Chef |
 |
As I thought about a name for my personal chef business, I remembered Labor Day weekend of 1997. That weekend turned out to be my Fork In The Road of life. I had worked for 29 years in the engineering field. But I was not fulfilling my passion: cooking. It was that weekend that I had decided to go to culinary school.
I graduated with honors from Kendall College two years later with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Culinary Arts. After graduation I joined a restaurant consulting company as a chef and operations analyst and I began catering as an assistant chef. I also started planning for my own business. The only name that really tells my story is “Fork In The Road”. Unlike other businesses that you might consider, I offer you personal chef services because I cook to fulfill my passion. When you taste my cooking you will understand this firsthand.
I sincerely believe that those who find and fulfill their passion in life are blessed. I hope that you will find yours; until then, enjoy mine!

| Frequently Asked Questions |
 |
 |
What does it cost?
This is the most frequent question because many people think that having a Personal Chef is a service that only rich people can afford. While I do cook for several millionaires, I also cook frequently for the typical family of four with both parents working and the kids in day care.
My Dinner Service is typically around $300 for 18 meals; my Dinner Parties range from the Wednesday night ladies book club salad, pasta, and Italian bread for $15/person to the seven course gourmet meal with matched wines for $90/person. Most dinner parties are $40 - $45/person. My Cooking Classes are for a minimum of eight people and are $30 per person and $40 per person with champagnes and/or wines matched to each item prepared.
When will you arrive?
This is the second most frequently asked question. For Dinner Meal Service, I arrive at 9:00 AM; for Dinner Parties and Cooking Classes, I typically arrive one or two hours before the event starts.
I don't have many pots and pans? Is that a problem?
Not at all because I bring all the pots and pans that I need to cook with.
I am watching my cholesterol? Can you cook low fat?
I specialize in all kinds of "healthy cooking" techniques. I cook low fat, low sodium, high protein, low carb, and vegetarian for several clients.
